Guess what everybody? I'm getting married!
I feel like I'm already losing my mind thinking about how I'm going to make a budget wedding work in LA (or SB), but I have faith! I'm anticipating lots of late night crafting parties...

congrats on your engagement! i'm in the throes of planning mine (next month!), which is also budget in the SF bay area. my tip is to find a decent venue that's not $$$ -- that's where you'll spend most of the money, i think. :(
Got your comment on my site but thought I'd reply here. Since ours is a summer wedding, A/C is a must, so we had to find an indoor venue. We almost went with a hotel that had a lovely area for a ceremony & reception but went with a restaurant instead. This place is a photog's dream -- 3 walls area floor-to-ceiling windows (very well lit), right on the waterfront, and had a little stage perfect for a ceremony. We're also holding the reception there too (less of a headache moving everyone and getting vendors, etc.).
But an outdoor venue owned by the city is smart -- there are such lovely open spaces that you can get for such a cheap price. :) Good luck with yours! I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of it all (assuming you put it on your blog!). :)
