i absolutely love cats. so much that T spends lots of time making fun of me for it. i love cats so much i'm surprised i don't have any cat clothing or accessories (i must clarify: for myself). look at these adorable items on etsy here (tote) & here (dress). i'm almost inspired to make some cat wrapping paper with the print of that dress...i know, i'm obsessed.

hand-stitch leather

harlex

I am such a sucker for leather accessories. Right now I'm using a leather macbook carrying case, a leather + felt ipod cover, and leather purse. Yes, it's an addiction. Check out these leather goods by harlex on etsy!

I especially love that leather envelope phone case.

color me kraft

Trying to make more kraft journals. I'm not really digging the watercolor on kraft look ... though I do love those two things separately. Together the colors aren't able to retain their vibrancy... time to experiment more! Stay tuned for these journals being sold in the shop.

Thank you for your patience!

ila handbags

Ila handbags/clutches are all handmade with new and vintage fabrics. If you have an old family heirloom, such as a brooch or handkerchief, Paula can incorporate them into a custom clutch for you! I would love to give these handbags as a bridesmaid's gift or something. So cute!

New card set in shop!

I am too idealistic. I thought I would have several sets up by now, but with finals looming overhead, I've only had time to make one! My apologies. But here it is, in the shop!

It's a summer-theme card set WITH really cute envelopes that I made from cute paper I found. Sorry there aren't images of the envelopes, I will try to post those today. Anyways, all the cards are hand-painted and one-of-a-kind.

Feedback appreciated! :)

What images come to mind when you think of summer?

Sneak peak

With the weekend coming around the corner, I'm trying to squeeze in time to paint here and there and make more card sets.

Here's a nibble (just a taste) of the set I just made (it's a summer themed card set):

They shall be unveiled on Friday! Let me know what you think!

Inspired!

Hello!

Hope you all had a blessed Sunday :). I'm excited to say that I sold my first item on etsy!

(photo taken by ngoc minh ngo)

I'm encouraged to make more things, and I just wanted to let you all (like... 2 of you) know that I'm already in the process of making more card sets :). I'll post some this week (hopefully), but I'm also going to be very busy planning a birthday celebration for my signficant other :). Hopefully when I'm more free I can start making other things as well.

Meanwhile... I'm totally enjoying Tara Donne's work, especially her food shots (i'm forever a foodie at heart).

As always, I would love if you said hello!

etsy baby born!

I've done it. I've opened an etsy shop. I've wanted to for the past 2 years, but never found the time to. And I was scared of rejection as well. This past week I told myself to suck it up and be a part of the community!

I only have one item being sold right now, but if that goes well, then I'll definitely add more! I'm selling a set of hand-watercolored cards. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think!

Scallops, not just for dinner.

I'm on a scalloped edge craze now. It's such a beautiful shape!
Some images I compiled:

left to right, top to bottom:

bunting from sweet jessie, scalloped print from etsy;
christopher kane (left) and chloe (right); scalloped mirror from etsy;
hannah from bekvam

Makes me feel like I should make some scalloped potatoes now. Those are quite delish :). Email me for a recipe!

Papier-mâché love

I assist in a first-grade classroom in hillcrest every week (cue the "aww"s). I've been trying to come up with some art projects that I could have the kids do, and papier-mâché came to mind. Do you think papier-mâché will be too difficult for 6-year olds? I'm just worried it will take too long to dry and whatnot. I'll tell you how it turns out (hopefully not too messy), but look at what I found while researching!

Up in the Air Somewhere makes these beautiful and delicate papier-mâché bowls. The mastermind: Chicago-based artist Susan Dwyer. Check out her etsy for more!!
